 Literacy Program

Promoting literacy, a sense of social responsibility and peer bonding. Eat, Sleep, Read focuses on academic strength through the promotion of the well being of the students. The best way to learn is in a safe and healthy environment and this program is that safe space. A space for students to express themselves and communicate with mentors and peers about social pressures and other issues that may be causing mental distractions. Once a week students meet with the program director and mentors to discuss topics from our readings and other relevant issues. It is intended that these discussions stimulate conversation about day-today life experiences.

Each student is also required to participate in our community services program, where each month they commit to one of our projects relating to community improvement. Community service projects are open to all people in the community.

The incentive to remain in the program are special events, activities and trips throughout the year. All of these activities are designed to create a positive peer group, where each girl can learn more about their peers and feel encouraged and safe to befriend other girls their age.

This program is currently for students ages 10-14.

community improvement Program

The community improvement program consists of several ongoing community service missions completed throughout the year by the students and members of our organization. Several of our missions are as follows:

Community Clean-up: Serving one community at a time and getting together with residents from selected areas in the city and organizing a community clean-up.

Food donation: Distributing food and winter clothing to homeless shelters throughout the winter. As well as volunteering at the Home Front Soup Kitchen in Trenton.

Senior Community: Taking the time to talk, read and play games with elder members of the community who reside in Senior Homes.

Spread Joy: Throughout the year, students create works of art or prose to distribute to children in foster care to spread joy. As well as veterans and public service members to thank them for their work and show their appreciation.

academic improvement Program

Mercer County statistics show that only 20% of children in under served communities are reading at their appropriate grade level.

We provide an after-school program and an academic summer camp. Our Academic Coordinator is a very trusted, well-established educator in the community and has an impeccable success record in improving students' grades and increasing their literacy skills.

social/cultural awareness Program

The foundation of this organization was built on the old saying "Each one, teach one." And together, that is exactly what we aim to do. It is important that the culture be reflected in our work. To live up to your full potential is knowing who you are and where you have come from.

Black history, culture, and celebration are everyday at Ever Learning Academy.

financial literacy Program

Each student is responsible for learning how to take care of his or her own finances. Teaching students about the responsibilities of earning and working towards a goal are vital life skills.

We help students open up a savings account. Students are charged with assisting in small fundraising projects.

They will also be charged with coming up with a strategy of their own to earn money and put toward their savings for school or another goal they have set.
